Our services.

  • Giant Dog House

The Giant Dog House is the heart and soul of the Sanctuary. It’s home to 20+ rescue dogs of all shapes and sizes. On a typical day, you’ll also find housed in the back room (or puppy house next door) 6-10 tiny rescue puppies available for adoption, and any number of staff/volunteers helping to juggle numerous, necessary daily tasks.

  • Stables

Our horses enjoy wide-open outdoor spaces with spectacular views. They are protected from the New Mexico sun by a number of smaller shelters that they share with our goats and llama as well as by more private, semi-indoor stables with tons of hay.

  • Cat Bunk Houses

The dozen or so cats residing at the Sanctuary enjoy the freedom to roam among three bunkhouses as well as a fully fenced outdoor playground area replete with numerous places to climb, explore, or just lounge in the New Mexico sun.

  • Goat & Llama Playground

Goats love jungle gyms! (Who knew?) On sunny days our goats enjoy their own outdoor playground. On (rarer) rainy or snowy days, they can take shelter in their own goat barn. One very special member of the goat crew is not a goat at all: Lovebug the Llama/Alpaca joins the goats and horses and regularly hangs out near (or in!) the feeding trough.

  • Chicken Coops

Several contiguous structures house our rather large population of 90+ rescued fowl, both egg layers and non egg layers alike. One such enclosure shelters a gorgeous flock of bantam chickens called sebrights whose feathers look meticulously painted.

  • Bunny Hutch

We have several bunny hutches strategically placed in and among the chicken coops. We typically have between four and eight rabbits, always in pairs. Did you know that bunnies form bonds for life?

  • St. Francis Chapel

A number of statues and other tributes to St. Francis of Assisi are present on our grounds. St. Francis is the patron saint of animals and, as syncronicity would have it, the patron saint of Santa Fe! The Chapel was built by a donor using wood recycled from the fences of one of the Santucary’s former locations. It houses the ashes of animals no longer with us in the physical world.

  • Aviary

The aviary is one of the most beautiful habitats on the property, as its interior is lush and warm. In the past it has housed flying bird, but more recently we have been using it to house a group of about 40 tiny chicks who will grow up to be egg-layers.
